The whole state of New York is a great fishing attraction for most of the fishing enthusiasts out there; and believe it or not, but there are many of them out there. I decided to blog about New York fishing after my last several amazing fishing trips that we had in this particular region of USA. As I haven’t been able to find any serious guides regarding how, where and why should people catch their favorite fish in this area, I decided to create one. Guys, in this post I want to mention a few important aspects regarding Salmon River. This is one of my favorite places.
I love salmons and I also like catching and frying them. You can find plenty of fish on this kind in the New York’s Salmon River. This is probably one of the first reasons why I like it; and I am probably not the only one. There are thousands of fishermen and fisherwomen coming to this side of American just to take enjoy trying to catch the biggest salmon in the water basin of this clean water river. Even though I never managed to catch anything else except salmons, a good friend of mine told me that people can also find Cohoes and Steelheads. Did you know?
If you live somewhere in the amazing state of New York and you are planning your fishing trip without knowing which particular type of water basin you will be going to I strongly suggest the Salmon River. When the day with a good weather is properly selected you are going to have a good time guaranteed. Just watch the weather report a few days before planning everything and make sure that you would like to spend several hours fishing during that type of weather. There is no point in fishing if you are not enjoying the actual process. What do you think?
Catching fish in the Salmon River was one of the best New York fishing experiences that I ever had the chance to experience. I would like to admit that ever since childhood I always was saltwater fisher for the simple reason that we lived in places where we always had access to the sea or ocean. My father taught me how to catch sharks and all type of marine fish. I really like to do it and believe it or not I was really good at is at well. Fishing in fresh waters is a little bit different, but it has its one interesting moments. I guess that you will never be sorry for choosing it.
The Salmon River offers people that chance to enjoy their fishing activity all the year around. However, there are some restrictions that the local authorities are definitely going to let you know, regarding the periodical stopping of the fishing season during spring for example. You are also probably going to need a special fishing license the US Department of Environmental Protection can offer you for a special fee and the proof that you are a resident of this state. Nevertheless, you can still enjoy catching fish in this particular River even if you are from the West Side.
If catching those really amazingly big fishes and smiling in front of the camera is something that you are really looking for than I suggest Salmon River as one of the premier fishing destinations in New York. Many people have remained absolutely impressed about how many fish this river has and how clean its waters are. There are many water protection organizations who are trying to do their best in order to keep people who might harm the surrounding environment and are always punishing in case someone doesn’t obey the fishing laws in New York.
Another thing that I really like about salmon fishing in this New York River is the fact that besides that activity itself you are always going to have plenty of accommodation options, both for your family, friends and relatives. I doubt that there is anyone who is going to have problems trying to find a room to stay overnight or even during a small weekend fishing vacation. Last time I’ve been catching fish in this particular river was probably the summer of 2009. I remember there were plenty of local guides willing to show you good fishing places and to help you out.
Nowadays more and more people are finding a great relaxing hobby in salmon fishing in such rivers. If you live in New York and you don’t want to go far away in order to enjoy catching fish you need to try staying overnight somewhere close to the Salmon River. You are going to be amazed by how fun and interesting it might be and I’m sure that this experience is going to leave several unforgettable memories in your mind. I got them now it’s your turn!
